About

Anna Neumann is a second-year PhD student at the Compliant and Accountable Systems Group (led by Jat Singh) at the Research Center TRUST in Germany. She holds a B.Sc in Electrical Engineering & IT and an M.Sc in Information & Communication Technology, both from RUB.

Her research examines how AI systems influence sociotechnical structures, with a focus on responsible-AI practices, governance, and meaningful auditing of algorithmic supply chains. Her CHI 2026 Best Paper, ‘Who Controls the Conversation?’, surfaces user perspectives on LLM system prompts and what they mean for design and policy.

She is also an active workshop participant across CHI, FAccT, and IASEAI, and gives invited talks at MPI-SP, RUB, RC TRUST, and the AI & Equality network.
